Helen Hardt

Award-winning author Helen Hardt has been writing stories since the first grade, when her aspiring writer father encouraged her and gave her a small metal file cabinet with “Helen’s Story Box” written on it in permanent marker. She began her first novel, a young adult romance, in the eighth grade. Although it will never see the light of day, she still has the manuscript that she typed on an old IBM Selectric.

She stopped writing to attend college and law school. She married her law school sweetheart and settled in Colorado to raise a family. Her two sons, now 16 and 13, are the light of her life. Recently, she decided to get back to writing. After completing a young adult fantasy fiction manuscript, she needed a fun read for a plane ride, so she picked up a romance for the first time in ten years. She got hooked all over again and decided to give romance writing a try. She has since contracted several stories and won numerous awards.

Helen is a member of Romance Writers of America and Colorado Romance Writers. Her non-writing interests include Harley rides with her husband, traveling, attending her sons’ sports and music performances, and taekwondo (She’s a first degree blackbelt).
