Being a mom and a writer is hard, and the only other people who know just how hard are other Mama Writers. We want you to know that you have a place to come where you belong, where you can feel like part of a real community. And that’s something very special.

We have all dedicated ourselves to being the very best mom we can be, which means becoming a better person. And we’ve have dedicated ourselves to being the best story-tellers we can be.

They’re a lot alike, being a mom and writing. They’re both amorphous-each will spill over into every moment. They’re like a fog, winding into small spaces of attention and awareness you never even knew you had. You never know when writing will come into your mind, or when an issue or injury or need of your child’s will come to your attention. And you can’t stop either one. You can’t say to your child, “Sorry, I can’t smile at you right now and that dandelion,” and you can’t say to your muse, “Sorry, no love for you today.”  Oh, heck, maybe some people can. But we can’t. Our passion is for both, and we strive to make it all work together.

Devotion. Love.  Unique Sisterhood. Connecting.  Passion for doing things the very best.

Where else can a mama writer come to discuss potty training, lack of sleep and a steamy love scene all in one place?

You’ve found a home at Mama Writers.
