Being a mom and a writer is hard, and the only other people who know just how hard are other Mama Writers. We want you to know that you have a place to come where you belong, where you can feel like part of a real community. And that’s something very special.
We have all dedicated ourselves to being the very best mom we can be, which means becoming a better person. And we’ve have dedicated ourselves to being the best story-tellers we can be.

They’re a lot alike, being a mom and writing. They’re both amorphous-each will spill over into every moment. They’re like a fog, winding into small spaces of attention and awareness you never even knew you had. You never know when writing will come into your mind, or when an issue or injury or need of your child’s will come to your attention. And you can’t stop either one. You can’t say to your child, “Sorry, I can’t smile at you right now and that dandelion,” and you can’t say to your muse, “Sorry, no love for you today.” Oh, heck, maybe some people can. But we can’t. Our passion is for both, and we strive to make it all work together.
Devotion. Love. Unique Sisterhood. Connecting. Passion for doing things the very best.
Where else can a mama writer come to discuss potty training, lack of sleep and a steamy love scene all in one place?
You’ve found a home at Mama Writers.

2 Hours a Day – Writing Progress
Our MamaWriter challenge to you: 2 hours a day to devote to your writing. It can be consecutive, a few minutes here and there and it doesn’t have to all be at the keyboard…but the goal is two hours a day. Share your progress with us on MamaWriters. Post your status in our community section and share how you do each day! Come back to see how others do!

What a great idea. There are lots of writers who are moms and we all need a boost. I can’t wait to see what great hints and advice you have.
Love this blog concept! As the mom of four perfect darlings, two of whom have autism, this is *just* the kind of community I’ve been looking for. Thank you!
What a great idea! This sounds like a great place to hang out! So glad I found it!

This is so what I’ve been looking for, and just what I needed! Can’t wait to take some time to dig aorund this site!
Found you today through a link over at the SB’s.
Just found this site, have only had a chance to skim through it loving what little I have read. Plan on throughly going over every inch of it tonight when kids go to bed. Following on twitter as well. Thanks!
Just stumbled upon this site. Looks amazing and can’t wait to dig around. As an aspiring author with 4 kids under 10 I can use all the support & understanding I can get in this realm!!
Just the site that will pick me up when the chaotic world of family has got me down. When will I have time? What if I’m not in the mood? It’s so nice to know that there is a support for the us ‘Mama Writers’. I will be trying the 2 hours a day. Hope editing counts!
Ooh, I just found this website and it’s sure to become a favorite of mine. Great blog from Suzanne Brockmann… a writer who I truly admire, and obviously a fabulous mom, too.

I’m back to 2 hrs a day of NEW WRITING. Not editing previous work, or other people’s writing.
I’m also seriously considering abandoning my personal blog and just hanging my hat here full time. Thoughts? How much time do you all have to go blog hopping and writing, anyway? Digging in to finalize a work worth being agented is taking all my extra mind space.
How about you?

If I had a personal blog that I had to post to more than once a week, I’d give up. I have this one once or twice a month and my Happy Endings blog, once a week usually…which I manage, too. That’s MORE than enough.
And we’re happy to have you hanging around here with us!
