Hi Helen!

I loved your blog. I was telling myself that my baby ain't so much a baby anymore. LOL He's THREE! He used to let me cuddle him and now, sheesh! He has much better things to do- like destroying the house!

I don't even want to think about the day my babies turn 18. I've been enjoying having them all to myself and will be loath to see them go off into the world. I wonder if they'll be as easy to bribe then as they are now. LOL I can get them to cuddle with me for a package of fruit snacks and a Disney movie! :)

Congrats on the soon-to-be release and I hope your boy has a wonderful birthday! ((hugs!!))

Helen,

I feel your pain. My oldest will be 18 on March 6. It's hard to let go, but I guess we all have to some day! The hardest part is not feeling like you should have an 18 year old. I don't feel old enough for that! :) Good luck and Happy early Birthday to your son!

hugs

The whole prospect is too terrifying to think about. I still have 4 kids all under 10. I can't imagine them reaching adulthood at this point. It's a plus if they all make it through the day unscathed. I'm dreading the day my eldest daughter asks for purple hair, my son wants a tattoo or one of them wants to change their name (yeah, I asked my parents all of these things). My 9 year old has already asked for his own iPhone!! I try to live each day as it comes. Time has already flown by so fast from when they were babies. It will be here before I know it!

It is frightening. When I think of myself at eighteen, I know I was in no way ready for real life. Thanks for commenting, Becky!

Sounds like he's six going on eighteen, lol. They all are so anxious to grow up, and we're anxious for them to stay babies. Thanks, Wendi!

I have a 17-yr-old daughter, and I had the same thoughts on her last b-day. We keep telling her, "Just a few more months, we're booting you out of the house." It's frightening, and kind of sad, to think that in just a few months, she could legally live on her own. Not that we'd let her, and not that she'd want to.

Time sure flies by.

Aw, Helen, I'm feeling your worries and heartache. I'm right there with you. It's not easy watching our babies grow up, is it? It happens way too fast!!

You are too right. My 6 yr old asked me if he and DH could go see a heavy metal band. Now, if he were a tad older, okay, but 6? And he likes to talk about when he was a baby he did (fill in the blank). The kid had some real adventures and I'm telling you, I don't remember a one of them (not the way he sees it, anyway.)

Great post!
