Vanessa, yes it was mean. Luckily our boys aren’t LITTLE ones. My son said he could hear them laughing after the goals scored. He has his own way of handling things – he just slide-tackled one of their boys on his way to the goal and took him out. Needless to say, my son is known as “the enforcer” or affectionately called “bone crusher.” LOL (Must take after his mom.)

Eliza, girls are tough! At first when I saw the girls playing soccer with their little matching bows in their hair, I thought “awww, how cute.” Then I watched them play – yikes – they’re merciless!

I would have done the same thing! I have all girls, and we’ve done gymnastics, dance, cheerleading and swimming… hmmm… I maybe we should try soccer? I’d like to kick some a** hehehe

Kris, I could definitely put a couple of those parents in my next book! Actually, just my McClintock Brothers series is a “Western” in that it’s set in Colorado. (Of course, living in Calif., CO is not “Western” to me – LOL) I always smirk when my editor mentions a “Western” setting. I know what she means, of course, but to me “Western” is Hawaii. So, the 4th book in the McClintock series is set in Maui for half the book!

Ah, the joys of parenting when you have to interact with other parents. And we wonder why our kids can be so rude and inconsiderate….

This, though, follows nicely on Stacy’s post a couple days ago, about watching the world around us, and paying attention to how people relate, and using it in our writing. The only trouble here is, you write westerns . . . maybe a rodeo setting?
