Some of you are doing National Novel Writing Month, some of you RWA PROers are doing author Candace Haven’s month long writing challenge, and still others of you are working on your own writing goals and finishing up this year with a bang.
No matter what you’re doing, you could probably use some inspiration to keep going!
“Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.”
Mark Twain
“The difference between reality and fiction? Fiction has to make sense.”
Tom Clancy
“If a book is not alive in the writer’s mind, it is as dead as year-old horse-shit.”
Stephen King
“No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader. No surprise in the writer, no surprise in the reader.”
Robert Frost
Keep on writing! and if you have any inspiring words share them!
Cheers!

Awesome quotes Mary!
A few quotes for NaNo:
You can’t wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club. – Jack London
If you’re going to be a writer, the first essential is just to write. Do not wait for an idea. Start writing something and the ideas will come. You have to turn the faucet on before the water starts to flow. – Louis L’Amour
Write your story as it needs to be written. Write it honestly, and tell it as best you can. I’m not sure that there are any other rules. Not ones that matter. – Neil Gaiman
Fabulous quotes B!
I have two quotes. Neither of them are about writing, but they both inspire me when I’m getting discouraged about writing. Good luck to all!
“It’s supposed to be hard. If it wasn’t hard, everyone would do it. The hard… is what makes it great.”
Tom Hanks talking about baseball in a League of Their Own
“All the girls I ever danced with thought they couldn’t do it, but of course they could. So they always cried. All except Ginger. No no, Ginger never cried.” -
Fred Astaire talking about Ginger Rodgers
Awesome quotes! Thanks for sharing!
Fantastic quotes! I loved the Jack London and Fred Astaire ones. Very witty.
I’ve been sticking with Roxanne St. Claire’s definition of dreams vs. goals. (9/23 post)
“Dreams…do they come true? Nope. Goals are set, met, and exceeded. Dreams are for people who are sleeping. Goals are for people who get up early and kick butt.”
And then there is my dad’s favorite inspirational line- I had to get up early to get my training in on my horse for cuttings on the weekends. He’d wake me up saying, “Get up and get going. Time waits for no one.” LOL I hear that every morning, when I’m hitting snooze when I should be up writing.
I missed that one from Roxanne, awesome!
Dad quotes are awesome. My dad always said there was plenty of time to sleep when you’re dead and buried, taking a dirt nap. Kinda morbid, but stuck to me, lol Was your dad military? mine was.
