Amazing what a little spring cleaning can do. Not only is my house almost put back together after a lengthy haul of a few rooms. We are decluttering, recycling and donating vs simply just moving things around or hiding them somewhere else LOL. But it’s almost as if the clearing and lugging boxes and packing things up to donate and brushing away the cobwebs have spring cleaned my mind as well.
Maybe it’s the darkness of winter but it’s like we hord the bad moods and all the stuff inside until the sunshine creeps through the window and that little streak of light grows and grows and grows and we can truly see once again.
I love spring!
Of course in our house, it means the boys are outside almost twenty-four-seven playing baseball or whatever else hits their fancy. I come from very pale genes so it’s to see them get some color again too LOL.
And now that my mind seems clear or the heavy mood seems to be lifted, my writing changes too. It’s easier to find the plot threads and the tangled web of subtlies needed to bring the whole story together. New ideas pop up not just for stories but for the writing process as well. I’ve been working at that lately as you’ll see on my blog as I’ve been plotting my progress there lately. Oh, and I have more spring cleaning over there too at www.stacydawn.blogspot.com where I’ve cleaned out some of my promo baskets and am giving away a couple special treats.
What does spring cleaning do for you? Do find your writing is closely affected to what goes on in your home too? Did you declutter or just move around LOL?
